Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Moral dalam Antologi Cerpen "Mata yang Enak Dipandang" Karya Ahmad Tohari

Abstract

The character education is not only focused on the interface activities between teacher and students in the class but also can be applied through outdoor activities in which both of activities aim to embed the noble values as advised by religion to the students to have the religious, discipline and responsible attitude in everyday life. This is a qualitative research that is a library research. The research material is an anthological short story entitled “MATA YANG ENAK DIPANDANG” written by Ahmad Tohari that has been well known in the world of literature and authorship since 1971. This qualitative research attempts to observe and explain the existing moral values embedded in the anthological short story of Mata Yang Enak Dipandang by Ahmad Tohari. A piece of literature work with its various results always contains certain values including moral values and social criticism, as a reflection of the author in giving contribution to the improvement of an era. With its typical character that is a creation of imaginative world by showing a unity of figures, characters of the figures, setting and time as well as the theme and mandate, a literacy work brings a mission to be delivered to the readers and belongs to a particular attraction. Reading becomes a core good deed to find out the content of the literacy work. It is an implementation of the command of Allah that is “to read”. Reading or literation is an important part in education world. The material of reading can bring an impact on the reader. Good reading will bring a positive impact on the reader. Today, the readers are given many readings that contain certain negative things such as hoax, provocation, threat in particularly the ones found in internet media. Until now, a literacy work is viewed as a reading that has a positive impact on the readers. it is because such reading still contains the subtleness of character, embedment of humanity values, care, compassion, strong educative values. The anthology of the short story of Mata Yang Enak Dipandang therefore deserves to be further studied as a part of stimulating the literacy culture towards the positive readings.
