Abstract
Emerging adulthood uses social media as a place to explore but there are various negative impacts on using social media, especially regarding the judgments of others that can cause social anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between husnudzon and social comparison with social anxiety in emerging adulthood of social media users. The subjects in this study were the emerging adulthood living in Yogyakarta aged 18-29 years. This study used The Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM), Husn al-Zhan Scale, and Social Anxiety Scales for Social Media Users. The analysis technique used was multiple analysis of the three-variable relationship model with the help of the SPSS 26.0 application. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a negative effect of husnudzon on social anxiety, there is a positive effect of social comparison on social anxiety, and there is an effect of husnudzon and social comparison on social anxiety together. The results of the study showed that husnudzon and social comparison had an effect on social anxiety in emerging adults using social media. Therefore, husnudzon attitudes and social comparison behavior that tend to be minimized can reduce social anxiety in emerging adulthood of the social media users.
