Implementation of Performance Measurement Using Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence in PT Hari Mukti Teknik

Abstract

As the second largest contributor to GDP in Indonesia, the manufacturing industry provides a significant role in social welfare. Therefore, the higher performance provided will encourage higher welfare as well. One of the manufacturing industries that plays a major role in society is PT Hari Mukti Teknik. However, the company's performance has decreased in recent times. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze weaknesses that can be minimized and advantages that can be increased by using a method, namely the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Measurement. The data collecting method in this research is carried out using a questionnaire and interview. The tool analyzes whole fields in industries, which is contained in the seven criteria (leadership; strategic planning; customer focus; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; focus on human resources; process management; and results) with 2 dimensions (Process and Result). The results of this study show that the highest score category achieved is Strategic planning, with 68 points (80%), while the lowest one is the Result category with 254 points (58%). PT HMT gets a total score of 662 from 1000 maximal points, and this made the company in the category of Emerging Industry Leader.
