Integration of Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Management to Drive Quality and Operational Excellence (Case Study at Industrial Engineering Department)

Abstract

Higher education is well known as one of the pillars and development partners to contribute to the infrastructure development in country equitable and beneficial to the improvement of the people’s welfare. Many stakeholders involve and take for granted from this business to assure a good quality of graduation and meet requirement of customer on higher education. To improve and maintain that quality to meet the requirement, it is needed methods that can drive quality and operational excellence in higher education system. Due to this, the researcher tries to implement Lean Six Sigma & Business Process Management in higher education system. By analyzing and simultaneously using benefits of Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Management with synergetic approach, the findings are attempting to shed some lights on the way Lean Six Sigma is applied to higher education and on integrating Lean Six Sigma with Business Process Management for the development and maintaining university’s continuous improvement.
