| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the implementation of Japanese cultural diplomacy through the Jakarta-Japan Matsuri (JJM) festival from 2009 to 2023, focusing on the strategies used to introduce Japanese culture and strengthen bilateral relations with Indonesia. The research method used was qualitative descriptive, with an approach involving library research, interviews with the JJM committee, and analysis of secondary sources. The subject of the research is Japan as the implementer of cultural diplomacy, while the object is the implementation of the JJM festival as a means of cultural diplomacy. JJM functions not only as a place for cultural exchange, but also as a platform to introduce innovative Japanese culture while respecting traditions, and strengthening Japan's image in Indonesia. Through collaboration with the Japanese Embassy, private companies, and local communities, this festival strengthens people-to-people relations between the two countries. JJM has proven effective in achieving the goals of Japanese cultural diplomacy, namely expanding cultural influence, strengthening bilateral relations, and building deep cultural connections between Japan and Indonesia. An adaptive and inclusive approach has made JJM a strategic instrument in sustainable international relations. | en_US |
