This research compares the structural responses of a multi-story reinforced concrete building under the earthquake load using Static Equivalent Analysis (SEA) and Response Spectrum Analysis (RSA) based on SNI 1726:2019. This research aimed to determine the structural response of an eight-story reinforced concrete building when analyzing earthquake loads using Static Equivalent Analysis (SEA) and Response Spectrum Analysis (RSA). The analysis was conducted on an eight-story reinforced concrete building with one basement, used as an educational building in Yogyakarta. The building Structural responses in this research are base shear, story drift, and story shears. The structure was modeled as a special moment resisting frame system (SMRF) in ETABS 22 software. Results of this research showed that the maximum drift using the static equivalent analysis method was 37.053 mm in the x-direction of the third story, while for the same direction in the same story, using the response spectrum analysis method, the drift was 35.689 mm. Maximum drift using the response spectrum analysis method was 36.184 mm in the y-direction of the fourth story, while for the same direction in the same story, using the static equivalent analysis method, the drift was 35.779 mm. Results also showed that the base shear with both methods was almost the same, but the story shears were different in each story due to the difference in the distribution of the base shear along the building height with each method. Findings of this research concluded that the story drift using the static equivalent analysis method was higher than the story drift using the response Spectrum analysis method. Findings of this research also concluded that the distribution of the base shear along the building stories was different in each analysis method.en_US
