Abstract

Rapid population growth presents a significant challenge for many developing nations, including Indonesia. Over the past decade, Indonesia's population has grown from approximately 259 million in 2015 to an estimated 281 million in 2024. This surge has intensified the demand for adequate housing, creating a critical imbalance between population growth and housing availability, negatively impacting community welfare. Therefore, productivity must be tripled to meet the increasing demand for housing. An integrated and efficient management approach, such as using information systems tailored for the construction industry, is essential to achieve these goals. This research analyses and designs a basic information system for housing construction to improve productivity. The design method will first determine the vision goals, then identify stakeholders, analyse current conditions, and determine the housing model and information system design. After the outcomes of the analysis method have been obtained, the information system can be designed using a context diagram and a data flow diagram. The result of the analysis shows that the current housing construction process needs to be improved. The stakeholders involved such as the Government, Developer, Community, Bank, Admin, Supplier, Housing Institution, Insurance Institution, Earthquake Expert, and Project Owner all play an important role in running the information system. Therefore, this basic design will be conducted in more detail and further developed by an IT expert to be created in the form of a web.
