The Factors That Influence University Students’ Interest in Yogyakarta Using Financial Technology

Abstract

The development of IT has had a rapid influence on the development of information technology, especially in the field of financial technology. With this mechanism, consumers can experience the ease of transacting online without having to pay in full immediately at the time of purchase. With easy registration, many students in Yogyakarta are interested in using Shopee Paylater. This research uses a questionnaire survey with the characteristics of active students in Yogyakarta 2020-2023 with a total sample of 150 students from 4 universities in DIY Yogyakarta. This research uses a combination of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) models. The statistical tool used to test the hypothesis in this study is SPSS. The results of this study indicate that loan approval speed, increased effectiveness, increased productivity, ability to pay, and security positively affect the interest in using Shopee PayLater for students in Yogyakarta.
