Abstract
The construction of Tawang-Ngalang Segment IV Road and Bridge Construction is to connect the city and suburban areas in southern Yogyakarta using more appropriate and safe access for both tourists and locals. In this project, a 81.2 m bridge is constructed using bored pile foundation. The foundation of the bridge is one of the most essential parts of the bridge to ensure the safety of road users as it transfer the load from upper structure to the soil ground without excessive settlement or significant change to the structure. The study case taken is Tawang-Ngalang Segment IV Bridge Construction, particularly on abutment 2, using secondary data obtained from boring investigation conducted by PT. Goemine Bara Studio and laboratory data from PT. Aneka Dharma Persada. The objective of this research is to obtain the working load on the bridge, bearing capacity of pile foundation, and a better alternative of existing foundation on field. The research will be conducted using Meyerhof method and Luciano De Court method as the static calaculation. As for Finite Element Method, Plaxis 3D V20 will be used. The result shows that the working load of the bridge is 3873 tons. The result of ultimate capacity (Qu) of the pile on variations 0.9 m,1 m, and 1,1 m are 883.356 tons, 940,404 tons, and 997.452 tons, respectively, based on Meyerhof calculation method. While using Luciano Decourt calculation method, the results are 1576.85 tons, 1867.35 ton, 2180.92 tons, respectively. As for the settlement results using Plaxis 3D V20, the results show the group settlement (Q,) values of 0.01437 m, 0.0131 m, and 0.01 193 for Meyerhof method. As for from Luciano De Court Method, the result shows the values of 0.021 15 m, 0.02406 m, and 0.0263 m, respectively.
