Abstract
Korean Pop (K-Pop) is a form of popular culture that originated in South Korea
and has since expanded to other nations. The Korean Wave, a worldwide
phenomenon fueled by K-Pop, K-Drama, and other facets of Korean culture, has
emerged as a key tool in Korea's public diplomacy strategy. This research
examines the impact of the Korean Wave on Korean public diplomacy using
particular instances from 2019 to 2023. The Communication Pyramid Public
Diplomacy framework provides a helpful framework for examining the practice,
results, and difficulties of South Korea in Indonesia. The impact of Korean
popular culture on Indonesian society can be examined using the framework
provided by the Communication Pyramid. The results of this study suggest that
the Korean wave has been a useful instrument for advancing Korean culture and
enhancing Korean perceptions. Cultural exchange programs are a vital component
of advancing culture and strengthening bilateral ties between nations.
