Kampung Baru is a floating village located in the western part of Balikpapan and is famous as a mobility center to get to the capital of the archipelago because of the many speed boat ports and kelotok boats there. With its crowded condition due to raising populations, the settlements in Kampung Baru, which is already inadequate from the very first starts to become more dense. With developments that are very close to each other and many people using this place, the Kampung Baru area is an area that is prone to collapse due to unstable building structures and is also prone to fire due to the narrow distance between buildings.
